today is the most important day in our life.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life. After a less than productive, exhausted, unfocused, day yesterday, that left me feeling a bit in the blah, I went to sleep visualizing what I wanted in life that I didn’t do anything to accomplish yesterday or this week so far. I was inspired to write this today because when I woke up, due to my positive visualizations and reflection, my first thought this morning, was: “Today is the first day of the rest of MY life”. I popped out of bed and was motivated again.
Now why is this thought so powerful and motivating?
Well, here is the reasoning behind it. Every day, we go about doing our usual thing & our usual routine. We operate almost in a robot state of mind and reality. We think about our problems, what we have to do, when will we be able do it, and sometimes it leads us to stop thinking about things we could do to benefit our future. We just do what we need to get by for the day. We wake up in our reality, knowing where we are in life, and what we want, but forget to stop, internalize our “real wants for the future”, & prioritize doing things that day to get ahead. We often just do whatever we “have” to do just to get by… due to fear, insecurity, laziness, or procrastination. Then suddenly we find ourselves feeling unmotivated, down, and in a blah state of non movement which is hard to get out of. So here are some reminders to get you back on track and motivate you like I did to myself this morning!
1.) YOU are totally in CONTROL of YOUR WORDS today. (YOU CHOOSE to SAY THEM)
a.) The way you speak to others today, words you choose to use, and tone of your voice, will influence others thoughts, perception, and reaction towards you. Their reaction will bounce onto you & either make you feel negative, or fuel you with positive thoughts and feelings. How you make people feel about themselves is important. It benefits you & can cause conflict or keep it away. It can also energize you when a happy person projects the gratitude of how you made them feel onto you. You control this! Huge secret. Use it.
2.) YOU are totally in CONTROL of YOUR THOUGHTS and FOCUS today. (YOU CHOOSE to THINK THEM)
a.)What will you focus on today in the scheme of life to make positive changes?
b.)What will you focus on today that helps you MOVE FORWARD in life towards a goal?
c.)What will you choose to purposefully NOT focus on and push aside because it’s wasting your time?
3.) YOU are totally IN CHARGE of YOUR ACTIONS today. (YOU CHOOSE to DO THEM & when you WILL)
a.)What are you going to do to fix a problem, mend a relationship, fix yourself, or advance yourself towards a goal you want to accomplish?
b.)When are you going to do it? Today is a good day to start. Right now. Take the first step.
WHAT we do & WHEN we will do it ( are the important factors here! )
If you think about it, it’s rather exciting! I can control everything in my day from what I say, to what I do, to actually influence others positively (which benefits me), and to be one step more accomplished tomorrow! So can you. We have that power. What you decide to focus on and do today will affect your tomorrow either negatively OR positively. If you focus on building and accomplishing positive actions today, instead of just staying paralyzed in a rut, or walking in a circle of daily life “I have to do’s” only, YOU WILL not only have a new positive built tomorrow, you will be motivated to keep building through your accomplishment. It feels good to get something positive done and built for the future. We instinctively want to build on it more as it gets bigger. And remember: nothing that happened in the past, or yesterday, dictates what will happen in your future and where your life will end up. Unless you let it.
So Take charge of it. Who cares that yesterday wasn’t that great and nothing got done. I didn’t! Lol. Oh well! WE can make up for it and move ahead today! I’m more motivated today to do! TODAY is the rest of my NEW improved exciting fast forward pace life! That’s what I’m thinking!
TAKE charge of your thoughts, focus, and actions right now. Think of & DO something positive to move you foward today for tomorrow… so you can build on it. Now! Stop focusing on what you didn’t do, the rut your in, what you need to do. YOU CAN at least get started on something for the future and do one small thing to get started. Build small things on one another and then get on a roll with out realizing it. But you have to decide you are going to do it, and start. Not tommorrow. Today. You are in control. Not me or the person next to you. What you do today affects tommorrow. If you do nothing, then tommorrow your back where you were at today. Get it? I know you can. xo
