</div><div class="MsoNormal">Leah: <span> </span>The greatest problem I've encountered... <span style="font-size: large;">Not knowing who I am, what I should do or where I should be</span>. You know the feeling of NOT knowing who you are? It sucks! It's frustrating. I was lost. It happened when I was in college. I wanted to find myself on my own. There really is nothing wrong about that.. But I think what I did wrong was, I closed my heart to all of the people who loved me. I just did everything that I wanted, not bothering to consider taking their advice, not bothering to accept their help. I was selfish. I just did what I wanted to do, and didn't think about the consequences. In the process, I've caused much pain and hurt to my loved ones. That was truly a dark time for me.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">MG:<span>  </span>Having this kind of dilemma, what comes in your mind? </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Leah: During that time of being selfish, I was numb. As I said, I just closed my heart. I did things that disappointed my family and hurt my friends. All the while, I was thinking of giving up. It was never easy not knowing who you are, not knowing where you fit in. In the process of finding myself, I just got lost. And the temptation to just "END" it all was overpowering. Then, the time of enlightenment came. I realized that though my intention of finding myself was good, I did all the wrong things. Then, the feeling of GUILT came. And it was more painful. I regret doing the things I've done and how I wish I could just take them all back.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">MG: How did you overcome this?</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Leah: <span> </span>I prayed. I asked for God's help, that may He give me the strength to face the consequences of what I've done. I asked for His forgiveness. I asked forgiveness from the people I've hurt. It was hard. But I know that I have to, in order to make things right. And then after that, I forgave myself.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">MG: So, what or who inspired you to pursue?</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Leah: .My family. My true friends. They are the only people who didn't let me go. They didn't give up on me. They were there the whole time, trying to knock some sense into my head. I really was grateful that they really did knock some sense into my stubborn head. I'm thankful to them. And they make me want to continue living and enjoying my borrowed life.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">MG: Ms Leah, What did you felt after you succeed in overcoming this problem?</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Leah: <span> </span>When I got through that dark time in my life, I felt light and happy. I felt relieved. I'm thankful that I have a very loving family, and some TRUE friends who never gave up on me.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">MG: Last question ate Leah, What <b>life lessons</b> have you learned solving this problem?</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Leah: There are lots of Life lessons in my story. First, family is family. The fake persons in your life may leave you, but only the true people who really care will not abandon you during your darkest moments. I used to take my family for granted. Now, I do what I can to appreciate them. Because they're the only people that I could truly count on when times get rough.<br />

Second. It is never a bad thing to ask for help. <span style="font-size: large;">Pride usually stops up from accepting help from the people around us</span>. I used to think that I'd look weak if I ask for some assistance. Now I know that it just makes me look stupid to act like I can do things without them, when I know I can't.<br />

Third. Saying you're sorry is never an easy feat. It is an admission of guilt or fault. But <span style="font-size: large;">asking for forgiveness is not a weakness. It is strength</span>. People make mistakes.. I made some mistakes. But the important thing is I learned something. I've changed my ways and I'm trying to do better.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"> <span></span><br />
Lastly. <span style="font-size: large;">There is always a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow</span>.  There is always a shining light at the end of a tunnel. Everyone of us  has dark, hopeless moments. And we usually seek to find the easiest way  out. But the true people in our lives will never leave us. GOD will  never leave us. So we shouldn't give up on life. Because it is simply  beautiful. And we don't have any reason, any right to waste it.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />

font-size: 14pt;">Let me say it in another way. There are two extremes that you need to avoid. </span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">First  is when we have no dreams. There are people I know who wake up in the  morning not knowing what to do.  Because they have no dreams. And a  person who has no dreams has already started dying.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">That’s  why every Sunday at the Feast (our weekly spiritual gathering), I teach  people how to dream. I teach people to write 7 dreams on their <i>Novena to God’s Love </i>(it’s a little booklet we give to all first timers)and pray for them everyday.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">The  second extreme is when their dream consumes their life, it actually  destroys them, or destroys their family, or destroys their health, or  destroys their relationship with God.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">These are people who say, “Unless I get a husband, I won’t be happy.” </span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">Or “Unless I get healed, I won’t be happy.” </span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">Or “Unless I get a baby, I won’t be happy.” </span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">Or “Unless I get a house, I won’t be happy.” </span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">Or “Unless I get a US Visa, I won’t be happy.”</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">How  do you know if you need to surrender your dream to God? When your dream  becomes more important than your life. When your dream steals away your  peace. When your dream steals away your God.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">What does surrendering your dream mean?</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">I’m not asking you to give up your dream. I’m asking you to give up your attachment to a specific version of your dream. </span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">And that also means surrendering your attachment to a specific timetable of your dream.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">Surrender  means trusting that God has the best version in mind for you. That  God’s best blessing will come in the best time and in the best way.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">When  you surrender your dream, you’re saying, “Even if I don’t get this  dream, I’ll still be happy. Because my trust is in you, Lord.”</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">I  believe something magical happens when you put your dream on the  altar. When you surrender, you hear God speak to your heart and say,  “Child, will you still want your dream if I tell you that I have  something better for you?”</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">I  want you to say this prayer to God right now: “Lord, I’m trusting  you. I’ll still seek my dream with joyful passion, but I will surrender  my attachment to the details of my dream. I will open myself to your  wonderful surprises.”</span></div><div align="center"><b><span style="color: black; </div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">       My mother wanted me to be a priest.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">        When I was a little boy, she told me, “I’m praying that you become a  priest.  I’m not forcing you. But I’ll be the happiest woman in the  world if you become a priest.”</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">       Talk about subtle emotional manipulation (Haha).</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">        When I was 16 years old, I took up philosophy for my college course, so  that just in case God really called me to priesthood, I’ll be  ready. (A.B. Philosophy is required for priesthood.)</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">After  college, I also took all the required subjects for a Masters degree in  Theology, again, just in case God really wanted me to be a priest. All  the Bishop had to do was send me to a seminary for a year or two—and  viola—I was ready for ordination.</span></div><div></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">But God never called me to be a priest.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 14pt;">When  Mom learned that I had a girlfriend, it broke her heart. Aside from the  fact that no woman was good enough for her son (Except for Mother  Mary), her dream for me to become “Fr. And  it doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just means that their  part in the story is over. And you've got to know when people's part in  your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead.  You've got to know when it's dead.<br />

You've got to know when  it's over. Let me tell you something. I've got the gift of good-bye.  It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye. It's not that I'm  hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to  have He'll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don't need  it. Stop begging people to stay.<br />

A Pencil Has Priority</span></b></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The  inside of a pencil is more important than the outside of the  pencil. Because the insides are connected to its purpose. On the  outside, it could be have dirt, have bite marks, have chipped paint, but  that doesn’t matter as long as its insides are working.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">       Like the pencil, your purpose is connected to what’s inside you, not what’s outside you. </span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">What  am I saying? Your money or your house or your car or your watch or your  cell phone won’t make you happy. It’s what’s inside you that will make  you happy.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">        The Divine imprint is in you. Inside you is the image and likeness of  God. The Bible says “Christ dwells in you.” (Colossians 1:27) and that  you are the “Temple of the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 3:16).</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">       Value what’s in you more than what’s outside you!</span></div><div align="center" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-align: center;"><b><span style="font-size: 16pt;">3. A Pencil Needs Pain</span></b></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">A  pencil has to go through painful sharpening if it’s to be useful. If it  doesn’t go through pain, it won’t be able to fulfill its purpose.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In  the same way, you need to prepare yourself to go through painful  sharpening—if you want God to use you. You will go through trials to  test you, teach you, and train you to be better than you were before.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Look back into your life.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">There  must be a reason why you went through what you went through. There’s a  reason why you went through that molestation, that separation, that  abortion, that deprivation, isolation, that temptation, that purgation,  that tribulation…</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">I  was molested as a child. I will not wish it on my worst enemy. Yet I am  able to speak words of healing today because of the pain that I went  through.</span></div><div align="center" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-align: center;"><b><span style="font-size: 16pt;">4. A Pencil Needs Perseverance</span></b></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">If  it makes a mistake, the pencil doesn’t give up. Why? Because it knows  it has an eraser. The pencil simply erases its mistakes, and moves  on. It doesn’t beat itself and condemn itself and say, “Oh, I’m so  terrible. Why did I make a mistake? I’m a total failure.” No such  words. When it makes a mistake, it simply erases and moves on.</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">        In the same way, when you make a mistake, God gave you an eraser. It’s  the most powerful eraser in the world. It’s called forgiveness. </span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">God forgives you. And asks you to forgive yourself. And asks you to forgive others. </span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Use your eraser everyday!</span></div><div align="center" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt; text-align: center;"><b><span style="font-size: 16pt;">5.
